MECUM Kissimmee 2024: Celebrating 25 Years of Collector Car Excellence

The MECUM Kissimmee auction returned to Florida this year for its 25th anniversary, The world’s largest collection of classic and collectible cars. This year’s event shattered records, achieving a staggering total of $275 million in sales, surpassing last year’s impressive $235 million.

Ferrari took center stage at the auction, showcasing some of the most remarkable classic examples from the iconic brand. The standout sale was a 1963 250 GT SWB California Spyder, which fetched an astonishing $17.875 million, making it the most valuable car sold during the event. Following closely was a 1966 GT40 Mark I, which sold for $6.93 million, earning the title of the second-highest sale at the auction.

Over the course of the two-week event, a total of 4,383 vehicles changed hands, including 40 unique collections. This year’s lineup was particularly exciting, reflecting the ongoing enthusiasm for classic cars among collectors and enthusiasts alike.

As we look ahead to 2025, the anticipation is palpable. The Kissimmee auction has become a highlight of the collector car calendar, featuring iconic vehicles from automotive history. Past auctions have included everything from the Ford v Ferrari screen-used GT40, to the original GT500 Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds, and even the legendary Bullitt car.
