The iPhone 17 Pro launch had me out early on day one, and I took the opportunity to swing by Champion Porsche that weekend. While part of the reason was to casually explore potential options for a future allocation, the main focus was testing the 17 Pro’s cameras. Every photo in this article was shot on the iPhone 17 Pro with minimal edits, proving just how capable it is for web and social media content. It doesn’t replace the ultimate detail of a full-frame camera, but for spontaneous moments like this, it’s an incredibly versatile tool. Capturing these cars in their purest form, the 17 Pro more than held its own, making it a strong complement to any professional setup.

Upon leaving the R5 at home, the cars immediately command attention. A 2025 Porsche GT4 RS in paint-to-sample Silver stood out right away. Its black and Deep Sea Blue two-tone leather with Race-Tex seat trim is stunning, while the Weissach Package, complete with red model designations on the sport chronos and gauges, adds a purposeful, race-ready character. Just beside it, a 2025 Porsche 718 Cayman in Shark Blue with a black interior provided a sleek, modern contrast.

One of the weekend’s highlights was Champion’s in-house Porsche GT3R Rennsport. Finished entirely in white, it’s arguably one of the most striking Porsches of the decade. Beyond its looks, it’s a rolling homage to Champion’s motorsport heritage—a rare glimpse before its full livery is applied. Every line of this GT3R exudes performance, history, and track-bred intent. Right alongside it, the GT2 Clubsport—the Pikes Peak winner that took first in the Time Attack 1 division in the 2021 hill climb—reminds you just how seriously this team takes racing pedigree and precision engineering.

And then there’s the 1989 930 Turbo, restored to perfection and awarded top honors in Porsche’s Classic Restoration Challenge. The final year of the G-body 911, this car wasn’t just restored—it was rebuilt to the exact condition it rolled off the production line. Every bolt was replaced or meticulously refurbished, with missing parts sourced directly through Porsche Classic. Its K5 Dark Blue paint gleams, a pristine showcase of craftsmanship and Porsche heritage.

Every corner of Champion Porsche tells a story. Being able to capture that story on the 17 Pro, without heavy edits, was a reminder that great cars and great cameras—even pocket-sized ones—can work together to share these experiences with the world.
